I stopped video editing to watch the first episode properly; on the sofa with a cuppa. I think that episode gets better with every viewing.

Same today on Gold. You notice things as you repeatedly watch and today I was struck how short Truly is . I always had Frank Thornton as being really tall, probably from his upright manner as Captain Peacock, but whilst Russ is 6ft 4...

I noticed the other day that our Seymour is in the show "Charters and Caldicott" along with Uncle Mort from "I Didn't Know You Cared" on the YouTube "Classic British Telly" channel. Not watched it yet but plan to soon. side note...

Thanks @captain clutterbuck ... It might have been to avoid typecasting, but I suppose he didn't have any input on the script - and Vince Powell does seem to have written some less than successful shows. Trouble is, now you know about...

Thanks @Barrychuckle - the first "Forgotten Sitcoms" video had only about 50 views on the Sunday it was published, my videos usually get about 200. However the total for 7 days is about 4,200 when usual for 7 days is 1,500 - 2,100...

He was a good quiet versatile and scrubbed up well according to some.

I remember a blind busker on Grafton St. in Dublin doing a brilliant version of this song. The poor guy had been robbed of his takings several times by the local Scangers :(

We were watching Yes Prime Minister yesterday and him in doors pipes up " he looks like Seymour " I told him it was Seymour to which he said " doesn't he scrub up well?" :fp:

I've read reviews about the book on Amazon which generally say the book is quite a dull read and a bit of a roll call ie I was in such and such a theatre then and worked with such and such actor etc. I went to see Peters one man show...

I did think that about Peter's book too, almost like he was distancing himself from his Summer Wine work, but then I realised the fact that he chose to be laid to rest where he spent so many years working on SW, the show must have been...

There are different versions of some episodes floating around. It's possible they are using the US DVD release versions, which were edited a bit, but I also have two UK versions of that barbershop episode (and other episodes as well)...
