Remember 23rd April - You WILL get a warning!

Luckily it's not compatible with my phone, but apparently you can disable the emergency alerts on devices that will work with it. Knowing our govt they'll send warnings when the temps are due to go above 30C and tell us to stay inside etc.

British TV in the 1970s was such a small world!

You only need to look at modern TV dramas to see the same actors popping up all the time.

    Summerwineland for just one day

I'd also follow Eli for an hour as it would be non-stop laughs.

    Programs Getting Shorter

I tend to watch a lot of YouTube on the TV via a Roku device, so unfortunately an ad blocker won't help for that.

    Programs Getting Shorter

We record a lot of the things we want to watch so we can choose when to watch it and can skip the ads. YouTube is also getting worse with the number and length of ads, so at some point when I can afford it will pay for premium to be ad free.

    What the characters did offscreen

Do you ever imagine what the characters did offscreen in the rest of their life in Summer Wine land? I have an image of Clegg reading a book or listening to the radio in the evening, but not popping next door for a brew because Pearl is too scary!

    Series 22

Entwistle always felt like a filler character, and definitely not as well developed as Wesley who he had a similar role to driving the others around.

    what character would you be

I'd be Barry, but only because he had the best wife in the show!

    Cast pay

I know that Brian Wilde negotiated a better fee than Sallis and Owen, but have always wondered how well paid (or not) the main cast members were. Presumably it was less than those on Casualty and EastEnders if only because SW was far fewer episodes a year.

    Cast pay

Was wondering, did the cast get paid well for SW, at least when it'd got established and grew in popularity?

    One-off characters who became regulars

That's a good point. Wasn't Smiler first seen in hospital and then later became a regular?

Wesley and Alvin were one-off characters who later became regulars. Are there any more?
