    Wally

I always thought his one-liners in response to Compo's comments to Nora were hilarious. Whenever she'd ask him to say something about Compo staring at her legs or insulting her, he always had a sharp, witty retort. Also, he and Sid in the boat in "Here We Go Again Into The Wild Blue Yonder" was...

Here We Go Into The Wild Blue Yonder

Where is the location where the trio were filmed walking on top of the viaduct with the cows grazing in the foreground? I tried looking under the maps section of the website, but it wasn't listed.

    favourite Howard moments

Can't recall the title of the episode at the moment, but it was the one where he lugged around a double bass for most of the show.

    best Blamire moments

Got to go with my all-time favorite Blamire episode "Ballad For Wind Instruments And Canoe". I thought it was hilarious when the canoe drifted away with their clothes, forcing them to walk home in their undergarments. Does anyone know if the actor who played Armpepper reappeared in any future...

Who did you miss the most when they werent in the show?

Compo comes to mind first and foremost, because his was such a pivotal character. After that, I'd have to say Foggy comes in second, because it was sad to say goodbye to a member of the classic trio. Thirdly would have to be Billy Hardcastle, only because I felt his character could've developed...

If you could watch 1 episode per series what would it be?

A very impressive list that nearly mirrors mine. I would have preferred "The Man From Oswestry" in season 3 and "Beware Of The Oglethorpe" in series 19. Otherwise, a spot-on list!

Have u ever watched LOTSW in black and white

As far as I can recall, every episode of LOTSW I've seen has been in color, even the first few Blamire years.

    Eric Sykes R.I.P.

Just read this online and thought I'd share it with everyone. Rest in peace Eric. Your role in "The Second Stag Night Of Doggy Wilkinson" was hilarious! http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/07/05/eric-sykes-harry-potter-and-others-actor-dies-at-8/

how you chose your summerwine.net screen names

Just curious to know how you all came up with your screen names for this message board. I chose mine because it's the title of the episode where Foggy first appeared, thus starting off the classic LOTSW trio.

    Warmest early series episode?

I seem to recall "Ballad For Wind Instruments And Canoe" having a warm atmosphere about it, except of course for the part where Armpepper fell out of his canoe and was floating downstream.

    Favourite Seymour Moments

It would have to be the episode with the drill attached to the bicycle, and how he got Compo to test it out, only to have him accidentally drill through an underground water pipe.

    Earnshaw Strikes Again

What exactly was Wally doing that caused him to hammer through a water pipe that leaked into Compo's flat? I don't seem to recall what type of repair or renovation work he was doing when that accident happened. Also, it appeared to me that Foggy had a distaste for certain things...

    Electrical Entwhistle

He had some very clever and witty one-liners, and somehow managed to tie a lot of them into attempts to sell refurbished washing machines! Only Entwistle could get away with that! That said, I wonder if he actually sold a washing machine to anyone? Can anyone recall if that ever happened?

    Alvin Smedley

Granted, there was only one Compo, and while Alvin had some pretty big shoes to fill, all things considered, I think he held his own and added some nice dynamics to the show.

    Smiler

I faintly recall an episode where Smiler was dressed in a tuxedo while riding on the back of Auntie Wainright's delivery vehicle. Either that or when he rode the tractor that towed the inflatable bouncy castle in Stop That Castle. Those two episodes were among my favorite Smiler moments.

did Bill Owen have a flat in Holmfirth!

I'm curious as to how a fish pie is made. I'm assuming it's like the chicken pot pies here in the US, which is basically a white chicken stew with vegetables in a pie crust. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

pity Foggy and Seymour didnt meet in Return Of The Warrior

Foggy and Seymour meeting face to face? I can imagine the clash of egos that would arise between two authoritative figures. That would have made for some great comedy, no doubt about it!

    Sid's fish & chip van

Re: Sid's fish & chip van I seem to recall Compo telling Sid there were old chips in the fryer baskets as he was riding in the back.

    Sid's fish & chip van

Sid's fish & chip van Aside from "Getting Sam Home", did it make an appearance in any other episode?

Best Summer Wine Couple (in terms of comic value)

Howard and Pearl, but what made the tension between them funny was the addition of Marina. A close second would go to Compo and Nora. It never fails to make me laugh to see Compo sneak a kiss or a cuddle with Nora against her will!
