I lived in Macclesfield for about 4 months mid 80s on Steeple Street. I remember there being a small shop on Sunderland Street possibly called The Little Brown Jug. I used to buy oats, lentils, vegan cheese and all sorts of stuff. I was a vegan for ten years from 1981 to 1992ish.

He scared the Bejesus out of me that thing, along with that monkey Topov, who was definitely a criminal. Hartley reminded me of Larry Grayson who I wasn't scared of and found friendly and amusing. The mind of a child hey.
My late dad (an awesome cook) used to make liver, sausage, onions and bacon as a kind of stew type thing. He partially cooked the meats, chopped the onions etc and slow cooked it in the oven. We had mashed potatoes and vegetables with it.
Like all dads cooking it was excellent and one of my faves.

I remember being severely taught by an evil nun, with a very broad Irish accent how to carry scissors across school. Ahhh the joys of late 60s early 70s Catholic education.

The speed that technology has changed stuff I'll be honest doesn't fill me with the greatest of glee.
I'm no Ted K. fanboy but I've read most of his stuff and he was 100% spot on. We literally destroy beautiful landscapes for a power station or new builds.
