I saw the Damned 3 times in my early years. Twice in Manchester August 1981, and once in Leeds at The Christmas On Earth punk festival.

Derek. That rings a bell. Didn't he have long hair or maybe it was his son. I loved living in Macclesfield. It always felt like it had a fresh atmosphere about it. Plus I like the Macc Lads :29:

    Shops no more....

I lived in Macclesfield for about 4 months mid 80s on Steeple Street. I remember there being a small shop on Sunderland Street possibly called The Little Brown Jug. I used to buy oats, lentils, vegan cheese and all sorts of stuff. I was a vegan for ten years from 1981 to 1992ish. NOTE: I NOW...

    Fig Rolls

He scared the Bejesus out of me that thing, along with that monkey Topov, who was definitely a criminal. Hartley reminded me of Larry Grayson who I wasn't scared of and found friendly and amusing. The mind of a child hey.

    Fig Rolls

My late dad (an awesome cook) used to make liver, sausage, onions and bacon as a kind of stew type thing. He partially cooked the meats, chopped the onions etc and slow cooked it in the oven. We had mashed potatoes and vegetables with it. Like all dads cooking it was excellent and one of my faves.

Oh my God I think it was. My mind is unclear about the second gig. Definitely saw them on Raven tour and not long after, but that Who Wants The World tour rings a bell. Please tell me you saw Ian Dury there ;) Your mum sounds ace. I used to regularly attend a place just up the road from the...

I saw them twice in 1979 and 1980/81ish at the Manchester Apollo. Amazing gigs. I too really only like the first 5 or 6 albums. My fave Stranglers album is The Raven. I say favourite because that was the tour I first saw them and it kinda had my heart but the others aren't far behind especially...

I absolutely loved the Blamire character. Michael simply nailed it. His walk, attitude, facial grimaces, and more. Absolute genius.
