I'm old fashioned and think a crossover would spoil the separate worlds that the comedies are based in.

There's a YouTube video of when Summer Wine was inducted into the comedy hall of fame and Peter Sallis compares it to the weather forecast which I thought was quite churlish. Granted that SW is what's described as a gentle comedy, but I've really come to appreciate its qualities.
