.....That you would like to of seen in the show as a guest or even a regular, my choice as a guest would be Alan Alda from Mash

Alan would have been good,I read some people didnt rate George Chakiris's appearance in the show,I actually thought he wasnt that bad.George is the other LOTSW Dallas connection. He retired after Extra! Extra! I believe

Wasn't the director from 'Extra, Extra' an American? Or had an American accent at least. If I am wrong I apologize, I am not the greatest with accents ;D

I wonder what the ladies would have made of Betty White ?

She probably would have had whiskey in her tea and succeeded in making Edie's sister look even worse !

Started rewatching Roy Clarke's great film, "A Foreign Field" last night with
Alec Guinness as Amos
Leo McKern as Cyril
Edward Herrmann as Ralph
John Randolph as Waldo
Geraldine Chaplin as Beverly
Lauren Bacall as Lisa
Jeanne Moreau as Angelique.

Struck me that John Randolph had just the right, crusty air to have fitted in.

A few names come to mind who I think would have been a great addition to the show...

Ernest Borgnine
Lucille Ball
Abe Vigoda
Clint Eastwood
Olympia Dukakis
Sally Field
Mickey Rooney
Donald Sutherland
Jill Clayburgh
George Burns
Andy Griffith
Don Knotts
Art Carney
Billy Crystal

George Burns, Andy Griffith, and Don Knotts seem appropriate. I previously mentioned Wilfred Brimley. To me, the simply folk would seem to fit in. I few people mentioned Clint Eastwood. I can't say I relate to that!

Ted Danson.who was superb in his shows cheers and Becker where he played
a gruff but brilliant doctor. anyone who has not seen this show check it out.
