the bbc have announced they are bringing back high school drama waterloo road, 6 years after it was axed the series will most likely air next year after holby city has aired for the final time, to me this seems like a waste as the bbc said when holby was axed they wanted to make at least two new shows set in the north to me this seems like they cant think of any new ideas and this will be a waste the last two series before this had low viewing figures after production moved to scotland this time it will back in greater manchester where the show was set before i think the producers are hoping nostalgia will gain high viewing figures Waterloo Road: High school drama to be revived after six years - BBC News

I won't miss Holby City because Mrs WM used to watch it and that kind of thing bores me senseless. But bringing back Waterloo Road is no improvement! It may be because they're trying to hold onto a younger audience. On the whole there's a lack of creativity in TV these days, perhaps because with so many channels any good ideas are spread too thin.

100% spot on...

They are out of ideas... trying to win every age group.. too many channels 24/7.. its all set to fail.

Dunno what its like there but Australia is FLOODED with fake "reality" TV...They turn into popularity bitchy contests...
Then theres the rejected crap from the USA that nobody cares about.

Quality TV is dead

Yes Reality shows are the norm here along with banal quiz shows . The galling thing is the no mark contestants in things like Love Island are treat like showbiz royalty in the context of earning money , many go on to make millions but have absolutely nothing to offer other than promote brands and these companies clamour to sign them up . I wish these social media giants would just come crashing down for a protracted period so we could at least enjoy a few months without this deluge of crap adorning our IT devices and TV screens . IF you go anywhere socially you have to endure some clowns playing endless mindless videos on their phones or taking 50 selfies of their stupid faces per minute just in case there has been a slight change in their appearance :mad::mad: I think my bacon may have been raw this morning and relax!!! :)

The  is purely for the astoundingly absurd amount of monies that are earned by these people but from what I have read in the press OF is portrayed as a glorified Pornography site . I'm in no way prudish but isn't there something just a bit distasteful about subscribing to people who are in essence selling their dignity for whatever they can realise monetarily . Before I get shot down in flames because it is freedom of choice , I have deep concern that some participants feel they have no other choice in life because they have neither the opportunities or skills to seek employment and feel that the only way to earn money is to graphically sell themselves via this media outlet who presumably take a large percentage of their earnings . IS this how low society has sunk :(

ITV has something like 4 quiz/game shows on Saturdays. Presumably someone is watching them, but it's nothing more than chewing gum TV. Unfortunately British TV is dominated by that kind of thing plus soaps and "reality" TV. Even dramas IMO are mostly boring and half the time feature the same actors.

Sadly like the rest of the world UK television programs have been going down the tubes for a few years, with each year getting worse, if I did watch live TV with the choice of hundreds of channels we have, I would be hard pressed to find anything that is not a repeat to watch and enjoy, at best maybe a couple of hours a week and that would more likely be on a commercial channel, it was for this reason I cancelled my licence already saving around £900, if needs be I can legally use the commercial channels catch up streams a day or so later than it was live, and the money saved has meant I have built a large collection of DVDs of shows that interest me

What seems to happen is you get some real gems released[ Vigil is a must watch at the moment] and some really watchable favourites [Repair Shop [although its a repeat at present] , Antique Roadshow etc] and the rest is either the same old dross Family Fortunes et al or new dross the Wall, the Hit list which are both Saturday prime night TV its just so sad.

It's that thing where some people are famous for being famous. The idea that a celebrity is someone with a talent to be celebrated died a long time ago.

I reckon its all a ploy to force people to buy paytv... Free to Air in AU I've found since cancelling foxtel is mind numbingly poop.
