Columbo is interesting because Jackson Gillis worked on it after having worked on Perry Mason. Many different things pop up on Columbo that were borrowed from Perry Mason. These things include the dramatic staircase, burning important documents in a fireplace, a lipstick shade that is an important clue and the dramatic arched window.
