Compo's Trousers

The other two are always saying 'he has holes in his trousers' but yet we never actually see any holes. is this just a tease from the other two or is there real evidence to prove this?

never saw the holes, but according to jw bell in his book the bbc just threw money at costumes and his scruffs were made to measure, probably far too good to put holes in ..

Early on, during the Blamire years, Compo's clothes
showed various holes and tears. You have to look
closely to see them.

But as the years and series rolled by, many of the
holes either disappeared or were covered with the
patches that you see later.

I noticed at the beginning of Woollenmills of your mind when Cleggy is talking to Howard that Cleggy had more holes in his jacket than Compo had in his trousers

I also noticed holes in Cleggy´s jacket, the worst one is in Greenfingers when he climbs up the ladder and tries to unhook the carrot. A huge hole at the upper end of his sleeve, he could have put his hand through that instead of putting it in the sleeve.
