Growing up, I had liver and onions once a week, for years. But we didn't know that you're supposed to take the gristle out.I love liver and onions.. prefer white to black pudding.
My late dad (an awesome cook) used to make liver, sausage, onions and bacon as a kind of stew type thing. He partially cooked the meats, chopped the onions etc and slow cooked it in the oven.
