Just a Small Funeral.

Love these pictures and a very fitting last picture in honour of Bill ( Compo ). Hoping that one day I will return to Holmfirth and surrounding area. In poor health at moment.

Just a Small Funeral

Great shots Pete thank you very much for sharing them with us its the small changes in detail as the years have passed that make them especially interesting for example Aunties shop, you have to assume that the BBC added new steps over the top of the originals , there are three more modern steps in the shop shot but in what is now a house there are two of what look to be the original stone albeit the owners have now added handrails. I suppose the people know you in Hill Street or did you just ask them if they minded you taking the shots outside Cleggy's, Hobbo's and Howard and Pearl's?

Hi Captain,I'v missed your humour while I'v been away,I took all the photo's yesterday except for the Howard and Pearls house ones which I took a few months ago,I went to Marsden, then to Helme to the lovely church, then to Holmfirth. When I took the Hill Street photos of Howards house I wrote to the people and they were lovely,as were the people who live in Seymours house when I wrote to them, although you can see most peoples houses on Google Street I wouldn't have taken them without contacting them first,on my way back from the See Ya Compo hills,on Binn Street at Marsden I passed Goff Helliwells house used in the Miraculous Curing, and I would like to do the same there at some point, also Barry and Glenda's house, thanks for the comments,I always look for the small changes too,Pete.

One I got wrong.

Of all the hundreds of Then and now photos, and locations I'v hunted down,I think I only got one wrong, the original version of this,I was only 50 yards away,at the corner house at the top of the same hill,Co-op Lane in Hinchcliffe Mill, been back there today and took the correct location, its the second hand shop pre Auntie Wainwrights, this time complete with (new) railings.

Happy Birthday Robin Hood.

This corner has been in lots of episodes, whenever they want someone to come round a corner they often choose this one.

The corner opposite featured in a few episodes too. Including the one about Tom Cruise photo's and bicycle safety underwear!:whisper:

Thanks again for posting. We must have gone past the above location dozens of times and not realised it was in the show.
