Some time ago, someome commented on an interior scene in Some Enchanted Evening, where Nora Batty is at her dressing table preparing for a dinner date with Compo.

My 1996 BBC Video, and my Universal Playback DVD don't have this scene.

When I heard of this missing scene, I didn't think much more about it, until I stumbled upon it 5 minutes ago on YouTube.

Does the scene exist on any of your DVDs?

I'm not sure why the scene was cut, though I'm convinced I can hear a sample of A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody, mixed in with the Some Enchanted Evening music, so possibly a copyright issue.

Nice little brief scene.

Can anyone provide any information on this scene?
 
I don't have it on mine either. In addition, there seems to be a scene missing in Ordeal By Trousers. I recall on you tube or some such Compo sings a bit before The Blue Mountain Boys dance, or rather Foggy dances. Not on my disc.
 
I had seen that scene on PBS here in L.A. I do think some stations have different tapes though as KOCE has shown the early episodes uncensored (the barbershop scene with the topless pics) where as I thought I read some other stations did censor those shots. It could be some stations have edited episodes like the one we are talking about while others do not.

I hadn't seen this episode but did find the 2 minute clip on UTUBE as you said. I woke my kids this morning watching it. I thought that Foggy was funnier before he started dancing. You could see in his eyes he wanted to so bad but was to shy. What a great actor!! Thanks for sharing! :D

I've seen it on youtube, and maybe once on my local PBS TV station. It's not available on DVD here in the United States. The last 4 episodes from the Cyril Blamire years for some reason haven't been put on DVD yet. I think this is a gross oversight on the part of BBC America, and I hope these gems are made available soon.
