Norman Cleggs painting over the mantle

Good evening fellow fans,

If I could offer a reward for this I really would! Can anyone identify the painting over Norman Cleggs fireplace in all the later seasons? My wife and I have searched through Constable paintings, paintings by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, as well as Claude Monet and several others. We even tried using AI to identify the painting, but got nothing. If anyone can solve this riddle, I will shower you with praise and adoration! Here are 3 “bad” pictures of the painting taken from the TV set. - Tom

Based on the style and subject matter, the painting is likely an English riverscape from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The exact artist cannot be definitively identified from the available information, but the painting is visually similar to works by several artists from this period. Some of the artists known for painting in a similar style include:

  • Charles James Lewis
  • Arthur Augustus II Glendening
  • Henry John Kinnaird
  • Frank Batson
Some of the search results also suggest that similar unsigned paintings from this period are sometimes referred to as "English School".

This is all according to Google reverse lookup : )
AI (as Tom pointed out) did not have an answer

I'd look at John Horace Hooper.
