There's a really good YouTube channel called Techmoan for anyone interested in vintage or even more up to date audio players and formats. He has done reviews on both 8 track and compact cassette and he was impressed with how both formats perform still, even compared to the most modern digital formats.Surprised you said cassette sounded better, as 8 track was twice the speed and tape width
There’s a great photo of footballer Mike Sumerbee with a turntable in his car. I often see him at the local petrol station and keep thinking of asking what he used to play on it.I only ever had an 8 track in my Triumph Stag. A friend actually had a Phillips record player in his car, under dash mounted & the turntable hung inside by multiple springs to iron out the cars motion. It worked.

It was 1967 and the record is Ruby Tuesday by the Stones apparently. My mate who unfortunately is a font of all knowledge about man citeh has just informed me.He's in a Volvo 1800s.
Who you or the van?
I have thought about getting something more modern, circa 2000 maybeWho you or the van?
Love VW vans it look great, you not tempted to replace it with a new California or similar to be all mod conned???
Same here Barry, we were talking about that over coffee this morning, along with how the quality went down, at least here in the US..Not sure about the US but the RV market went absolutely crazy here during Covid.
To get some perspective a new Cali Ocean commands the same price today you could buy a new Mercedes S Class for in 2019.
I’ve also heard the next gen T7 will be a design shared with Ford. That may mean the current VW will be the last iconic VW Camper design…
