Hi

From early Monday morning on the 1st February 2016 we will be running the new forum software,I am sure many of you will have looked at the new layout, if not it is here http://cornishman.net/community/index.php but any post you make on this teat site will vanish on the 1st when the current forum database is transferred.

If on the 1st you have a problem then please mail us at help@summerwine.net and we will get back to you asap, if you have not had a reply in a couple of hours please check your spam folder in case it gets stuck in there

Many Thanks

Terry

I will be starting the conversion at about 0600 GMT Monday morning, and if all goes well it should be complete by 0800 (about two hours).
So between those hours you may get either a 404 Error (page not found) or a 504 error (Gateway error), this is nothing to worry about.

I get lots of those from all over!!

One of my problems is I used my work issued laptop for this site. The laptop is old and slow at this point, but I am told that I am due for a noew one in Auguust. So while the computer is slow overall, this site is really slow, hopefully the new site will be quicker.

My second problem is I am just terribly slow with 21rst century technology in general. Everytime there is a change I need to know my password and now that I have passwords for every single aspect of my life, I can't remember most of them. Each thing needs has different stipulations on their passwords (number of characters, number of Caps, amount of numerals, etc.) and I have to change them so often.

So in a few weeks I will try to log on. If all goes well, I will be able to get a really good password, get on the new site and browse freely. Pearl told me that I can use my current one, but (surprise , surprise) I have no idea what it is!

If you have forgotten the password then we have the technology :D :D
You have two choices, you can either click the "Lost Password" link and follow the instructions OR email me / Terry on help@summerwine.net and we will reset the password for you and email you the new one (the simpler solution)

That is you, Terry - Gothic?

I think it is best if I start fresh next time I get a patch of free time. Come Monday, I will be so busty with so many activities.

Thanks.

I notice I am now an active member - not too sure that is quite the right word I would use all the time!!!

Also note the number of posts no longer displayed - mine were mostly rubbish anyway!!

Is there an option for a spell checker in the Shout Box? Despite the quantity that I write, I'm a rubbish speller so I need it there. I've just discovered that my usual American English speller is still active in the threads, so I'm safe here, anyway.

Thanks for that Dick - a bit worrying that I am fairly prolific although not as much as yourself. Never think I have anything to say!
