The trio visited a business at number 17, why did they go there and who ran the business ?

Was it when they visited Percy Dirkus and had to build their own bikes ? (forked lightning ??)

I may be absolutely useless at your quizzes Terry, but at least I keep them running for a little while longer before Roger nails them!!:p:p:p

As a Geordie we are known for being abjectly poor at quizzes. One famous Geordie appeared on a show you may remember ,Double Your Money with Hughie Green . He got to the jackpot question and it was a three part question on Football . Hughie as usual offered a choice if he wanted the first part first , first part second, first part third etc .After a pause the Geordie opted for the third part first . Hughie then stated " Well for the Jackpot, a three part question on Football you have opted to take the third part first . So for £50,000 taking the third part first, on Football , WHAT WAS THE FINAL SCORE" :08:

That was not Forked Lightning, Dick. Forked Lightning is where the chain kept coming off Clegg's bike. They take the bike to Huddersfield where Cleggy originally bought it in the 1950's (?). Sid also has a try fixing it as the lads sing Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head. Watched the episode last night. ;)

I realised after and thought I'd edited it to a " bicycle made for three " :3x:

I really don't know this one.
The boarding house in Scarborough was number 7, run by Mrs. Chafer, but that's as close as I can get.
Going to have to leave this one to Roger, as usual.

Could it be Duggie's second hand shop? They went in to buy trousers for Compo but were also sold a metal detector.
I hope it isn't because that was my very first thought, but if it is 17, it's not what you'd call clearly visible.
