Sticks of Rock and Cheeky Postcards

I live a few minutes drive from a seaside town but haven`t been to many others recently. Some of the coastal towns on Anglesey and North Wales are nice.
I've only been to Barry Island in Wales. Many years ago when Butlins was there before it was Demolished for Housing

Across the Pond, there's Ocean City, Maryland which was my family's summer destination. We always stayed at the same motel because there was a kitchenette included in the room, a necessary feature which enabled us to not eat out as much. Ocean City is a lovely resort town with a lovely boardwalk over looking the beach.

Do people still send postcards from their holidays ? I remember receiving and sending them many moons ago and its a tradition I wished had not disappeared . I did see a humorous story about a couple who had received a postcard from the lady who cleaned their house it read something like:-
Arrived safely, lovely food , nice weather , great Hotel . I have unpacked , decided to stay in, Iv'e re-made the bed , cleaned the bathroom , dusted the table and washed the floor , see you soon Mrs M :)

I don't; never did, although one of my extremely traditional friends does. And I don't post Facebook updates, either. That just advertises that my house is unoccupied. Most of my relatives do that, and although I enjoy keeping up with their travels, I hope that someone is keeping an eagle-eye on their property.

I buy lots of postcards, though, to supplement my photos.

Mam and Dad took us kids (4 boys, my poor mother) to Wales every year to a place called White House By The Sea in the 70s. They always rented a 3 bed chalet which was pretty expensive and they were amazing holidays. My old man worked his heart out to make stuff happen and our mam kept us in check, loved and fed, although Dad was a top class cook, mam not so much :21:. Post cards were a part of the holiday and I remember them sometimes being a tad risqué.
