OK, somehow, and I do not know how, I am looking at a web page
titled: http://www.summer-wine.com/news.htm. It is in fact the
complete first page of the now-defunct Summer Wine Appreciation
Society web site. Pictures and all!!!

If I click any link, I get this:

Address Not Found
www.summer-wine.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again.

If I copy and paste http://www.summerwine.net into any other browser
window, I get the same.

Now I am afraid to turn off this computer because I may never get
back here again.

I have selected all and copied to a Word file, which picks up all the
text but none of the pix.

Could use some advice here. Am I the only person in the world
who can see this 2000 web page???

Yes that has happened to me several times as well, but
then all of a sudden there it is again. I have been able to
copy the whole web page, less the JPGs, to my desktop
just for the memories. Si if anybody wants to see it ...

Top of page sez:

Summer Wine On-Line

and a picture of Clegg, Truly, and Compo.

And the whole rest of the web page is there. No idea how
I got here or whether I'll ever get back to it.

I can't get to the web page, either. At least not yet.

Quick and dirty, but to save the pictures, have you tried to right-click on each photo in turn. Does that display the usual drop-down menu that includes 'Save Image As ...', fourth option from the top? If so, select that option, choose a folder on your system to store it in, give it a unique name if you don't like the name the system displays, and it's yours.

Thus far I have been able to see the Eric Sykes page,
the Summer Wine News and Features page, the
Site Updates Suspended for the Summer page.

No idea how or why this is doing what it's doing.

I am quitting for now. This is silly.

Hi Chuck
It looks like the site has closed,it is possible if you visited the site in the past the pages you can get were stored in the cache on your computer and not being pulled in from the internet

Yes I thought of the cache as well. But I have not been to this
site in years and years. Think it closed in 2000. That's a long
lived cache.
