Summer Wine Intro Song

Have I gone barmy, or does the intro song sound a bit different over the years? Tempo, tonal, etc?

The musicians continued to play the right notes but not necessarily in the right order

It was never a "conventional" theme tune - nearly every episode it transitioned into the incidental music for the opening scene, so even if that was an edit, the music must still have been played many times, as recording and technical changes were made to the way the show was produced and filmed.

With most TV shows, the theme music and titles are made just once and reused for most episodes, but as all the Summer Wine opening and closing titles are unique, I believe the theme must have been specially rerecorded for every episode, to suit location of the scenes, timing, script etc. As far as I can tell, no two episodes use the same recording.
