OK, the ladies spend most of their coffee mornings on righteous discussions of righteous topics. Pearl makes snide comments about what Howard is doing or not doing. The ladies make sympathetic noises. They all talk about what their men are doing (or did). Glenda asks probing questions and is shushed by her mother. They firmly have their "armor" on. Then it is revealed that they are human as they have the brief skirmish over the cream cake.
