Not LOTSW but could be I spotted this on a terraced house and thought clearly the roofer was perhaps owed money and the tenant refused to pay so the roofer took revenge by putting a huge flat head nail through the roof tiles.

That's what happens after a night on the tiles - you get your mind in the gutter and need your pipes cleaning! Mind you, getting your drinks on the slate isn't all bad...
