Was Compo an ale drinker?

Didn't Nora Batty down a double whiskey or something in an episode and one of the three paid but I don't think it was Compo !! :-\

That was a brandy before Compo could add the ginger ale, Compo said to Foggy they would go halfs on the drink and Compo would get the ginger ale, the episode was "Deep in the Heart of Yorkshire"
