Saw some marvellous pictures last night of railways lines in 1947 when they were being cleared of drifts. Taken by a foreman on a group normally working on re-railing in North Yorkshire. All wearing long overcoats, flat caps and not a single hi-vis vest or hard hat to be seen.
This was at a local group on narrow gauge railways and some one knew the person who had copies of these photographs which he was able to scan and was given permission to show them
