I'm currently away on holiday and to my delight I spotted this so I had to go in. I have to say it was pretty much as I remember Woolies, it was selling diaries, stationery, kitchen & DIY stuff and of course lots of sweets. Clearly Woolies isn't dead in other countries!!!!!!!
Very well spotted yes Bridgetown, clearly your geographical knowledge is as strong as your LOTSW knowledge!!!Barbados?
In Oswestry that they still think electricity is witchcraft!!!!!Wow, looks like a time warp.
Oswestry is great isn’t it?
Is that real blood inside that lolly?????It’s strange how things can still exist in other countries. Remember these old lollies we used to have as kids well I’ve been informed that Dracula lollies are still available in Spain.View attachment 6892View attachment 6893
I have been to Boston on three occasions in the last year or so, not in the town though, for hospital appointments and the hospital is nearly 2 miles from the town, the first visit we went via the edge of the town, the traffic all around the area was a nightmare, so I found another route.Posting this here because the thread has in part sadness at the loss of particularly Woolworths. I read this article today with great sadness , it is atypical of what is going on in our towns and cities , it is that much harder to deal with because we are of an age when the high street was thriving and it was just a huge treat to visit especially when you were a kid .
Boston 'is dying from the inside out', retailers warn
More than a quarter of shops are empty, but opinion is divided on how to find a long-term solution.www.bbc.co.uk
NB Terry I know you are in Lincolnshire wondered if you ever venture to Boston and if you do how bad is it.
