Lest we forget a more pleasant use for old Newspaper now no longer acceptable , apparently, ...........................I give you wrapping for the British classic Fish and Chips!

Yes!....... those were the days! Did anyone else like the bits of batter left from the frying that we call locally scrumpies? We used to ask for them with our chips.

Yes, we called them scraps. You had to be careful who was in the chippy when you called in on the way back from the pub and asked for a scrap.!

We still get our fish and chips wrapped up in newspaper from the shop.

Just to interrupt the memories of Fish and Chips for a second there was of course a very entertaining use for newspapers and this article is a wonderful testimony to the last great exponent of the art .
