In the episode 'Wind Power' Clegg was letting his imagination run away with him, philosophising that, what if Colombus hadn't actually discovered America. Maybe it was a man called Wigglesworth from Sheffield that had got there first but didn't get the credit. Clegg then mentions about the apaches and Pontefract cakes, all a bit tongue in cheek for Compo's benefit really.
