For the first time in a very long time I am truly lost for words that no one agrees with my opinion of "the gruesome twosome"[ Casey and Woods]......still.....it takes all sorts etc...etc...
So..... I am asking someone in my wonderful Summerwine family to give me reasons to change my mind.
X! X! X! X! X!

I'm sorry (BUT SINCE YOU ASKED) I thought they were excellent in Welcome to Earth. The pub scene was brilliant, where everyone is taking the michael out of Paul Bown, and Casey and Woods perfected the 'always-in-the-pub' duo.

While we're talking about it, George Chakiris was mentioned earlier. Anyone notice how young he looked for his age back then in 1996?
He's now 92.
And, although he does look older than he did, he still looks a lot younger than 92.

Cannot immediately recall the episode but when Cooper and Walsh corner the drunk in the field and when they become distracted he steals their car is so funny and fully deserves to be included.
He's not just a drunk, but a publican too! The episode you referred to is S28 'The Crowcroft Challenge' - Tony Barton steals their car having previously been landlord in S16 'The Most Powerful Eyeballs in West Yorkshire'. He returned as a drunk in S29 in 'A Short Introduction to Cooper's Rules'.

If you had a summer wine drinking game where everytime someone took a drink be it the men's tipple of choice, a cuppa in Sid and Ivy's cafe or Edie's infamous caffeine concoction that must be imbibed at the merest whiff of inappropiateness then you'd leave the game drunk as one of these fellows!

Do you remember the Summer Wine pub crawl we did to kick off the 50th anniversary celebrations. I was rather merry with the few pubs they selected, it would have been carnage if they used every pub used in the entire series!!! :D
