Peter Sallis born 1 February 1921 OBE 2007. - Died 2nd June 2017
Peter Sallis was born in Twickenham, Middlesex, he was a stage actor in the 50's and 60's. He was the voice of Wallace in the BAFTA and Oscar winning animation Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Day Out. He was the only actor to be in all 295 episodes.
Played Norman Clegg in 295 episodes.

Norman was a lino salesman for the Co-op, until he was made redundant in the 70's. He was married to Edith Clegg and had no children. He spent his days walking the hills with the lads and tried his best not to get involved with Howard, Marina and Pearl.


Bill Owen born March 14 1914 - Died July 12 1999 age 85 MBE 1976
Bill Owen was born in London and made his first film in 1944, he was a regular in Carry On films and was a songwriter, he wrote Marianne recorded by Cliff Richard. He also worked as Spike Milligans straight man in the West End hit Son Of Oblomov in 1964.

Michael was born in Jhansi India he was a Major with the Brigade Of Gurkhas in Burma. He worked on BBC radio and played Rangi Ram in It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

Brian Wilde born June 13 1927 - Died March 20 2008 aged 80
Brian was born in Lancashire England he was RADA trained and appeared in Carry On Doctor, he's best known for playing Mr Barrowclough in Porridge alongside Ronnie Barker and Fulton Mackay. His son Andrew was a film editor on the show from the 90's.
Brian was the second and fourth 3rd man of the trio.
Played Walter Dewhurst aka Foggy in 116 episodes.

Foggy returned after a five year absence in Return Of The Warrior in 1990

Joe was born in Lancashire and stared in Nearest and Dearest from 1968- 1973 he also appeared in Coronation Street.
Played Wally Batty in 47 episodes.

Wally was married to Nora, he kept pigeons and was a member of the Bullocks. He would take Nora out for picnics in the motorcycle and side car and just loved Raspberry Ruffles.

John was born in Stretford and started work performing in a double act with his brother, together they did theatre productions for local schools before staring with Peter Sellers and Sir Richard Attenborough in I'm Alright Jack and Rita Tushingham in A Taste Of Honey.

Gordon was born in Salford and was a qualified painter and decorator he started acting as a bit part actor he appeared in Hetty Wainthropp, All creatures Great And Small and Heartbeat.

Thora was born in Morecambe and make her stage debut at 2 months old, she appeared in many comedies and hosted Praise Be. She won a BAFTA for her roles in Alan Bennetts Talking Heads Monologues.
