The Date that the switch to the new forum will be the 4th March 2014,this enables Tony and myself to be available to deal with any problems. If you have not done this already or you are a new member you need to visit http://www.summerwine.net/community/ and reset your password, if you have problems doing this then send me a private message, when you reset the password you will be sent 2 emails, please check your spam folder if they do not arrive after 1 hour.

Those of you that I have changed your user name,we might have to do it again when the forum goes live, any problems at this stage email me at admin@summerwine.net

It is expected on the changeover date that early morning (UK Time) the site and forum will be down for a short while while settings are changed for the links along with transferring the old database to the new forum, all being well this should be under 30 minutes,a notification will be on the main webpage when the transfer is complete

We look forward to seeing you all on the new forum when we switch, Terry

For those of us who are IT challenged, can you spell out the exact steps that we have to take on March 4th presuming that the password has been changed, etc. Where do I go and what do I click on? Does it have to be done exactly on March 4th? Does the time difference matter? Many thanks for all of the hard work on getting this IT stuff done.

The only difference will be the URL (web address) From March 4th it will change
FROM:
http://www.summerwine.net/community/
TO:
http://www.summerwine.net/community/

So, as long as your password has been reset, that is the only change, you just carry on as normal, nothing else to click :)

What a dope (or barmpot) I am - I had not noticed that there were different theme backgrounds.
All this time I have been set on the default theme. :o
In your opinion, on the new forum, which theme is the best to use?
I am not fond of the pink color yet - and you probably made this option for the ladies and we thank you. I do like the butterflies. :-*
Linda

Linda I have mine set to blue, I can read much better with a blue background. :D
