For those of you that use the Facebook group Last of the Summer Wine will Never Die, the Admin discovered that the creator of the group called Ben no longer seems active,what concerned admin that he still has total control and at any time could decide to close the group,to overcome this possible disaster a new group has been formed titled Last of the Summer Wine forever (Link Below) so if the worst should happen the regular users still have somewhere to visit,with the same good folk that was on the other site,we know that folk do not like change and it has been hard work but all with the best intentions,if admin had done nothing and the group vanished the I suspect there would of been even more questions to answer.

Amos, I quit facebook a few years ago,my acct got hacked and someone made crude remarks about someone,making it look like I said it. Painful. Pearl invited me,I didn't want to,but did signing up as brenda loves compo. I just have my summer wine friends,and have met several fans,and made some new friends. I am glad I did it. We have a good time discussing the show,and other issues. There is even a group of ladies on there that drool over firemen. REDICULOUS! I still want to make this group my priority,because of the people. :17:

Firemen??? Disgraceful hussies. :12::12:

I heard some of the ladies were so enamoured they decided to show their affection by having the firemen's names tattooed on their bodies even at a cost of £10 a letter imagine the shock at the cost for Pugh, Pugh , Barnie McGrew , Cuthbert , Dibble , Grubb £440, of course you have to include the commas to ensure it is grammatically accurate.

I have always been anti face book too dangerous. Our Summer Wine Forum is just as good if not better and less vulnerable.

True. It can get out of hand. Some people put their whole lives on FB. Way too much, I know a couple who laundried their divorce on line. I was embarrassed for them.

It is nice when living 400 miles away to share pictures with family. I do miss that. Keeping it summer wine is just fine. LOL.

It's Friday, gotta check for those firemen!!!!:42::41:

I think objectifying the opposite sex is disgusting fireman are living, feeling sensitive human beings and not just bits of meat with bulging muscles and a washboard stomach and eyes you could just dive into....... They risk their lives everyday to rescue people and have a right to be respected and especially the tall blonde and handsome ones............ I mean all of them :me::me::me::12::12::12::12:

After all this time I finally broke down and created a facebook account primarily for the sake of the Summer Wine page. It was mind blowing that shortly after I signed up soooo many people from my past showed up. Some of these are people I barely knew. They were from my home town and from my college days twenty years ago. Others are friends of friends. It is crazy.

Anyway, I got into the new facebook site that Terry included at the start of this thread. I think I signed up, but I wasn't able to reply to any threads. So pretty soon, some of you will know the actual name behind CODFANGLERS!

I am pretty old-fashioned, so I might be a bit slow at first. Also, I am way too busy to start regularly communicating so all these people! I have to figure out how to manage my time..... do I become facebook friends with 100 people or do I parent my 7yr old and 4yr old? That answer is obvious. However, I do want to try to contribute to this site and that one.

I subscribed to Facebook several years ago solely to be able to post comments on my favorite photography tutor's page. Then with the demise of reasonably-priced personal web page space, I dressed up my Facebook page to eventually use as a place to display some of my photos. If I ever get around to posting my photos, I'll make the resolution low enough so they won't be worth stealing.

My policy is to accept Facebook friend requests only from people I know personally and to post only those things that I wouldn't mind seeing connected with my name on the front pages of the local newspaper and of a national paper. That lets me designate everything on the page as public, and to never be concerned about anyone re-posting any of the content. I don't post photos of other people, as that would invade their privacy and possibly put their images in the hands of someone they'd rather didn't have them. If I had children or grandchildren, I'd never, ever, display their photos there even if I made them private to a custom list of people, as someone in that list could re-post, exposing the most vulnerable people to potential danger.
