I appreciate that we've discussed High St shops which are no more, but after seeing an empty VHS firm rental shop which still had it's sign I was wondering if you can think of any other types of shops we no longer see?

With the very odd exception in a handful of towns, camera shops are largely a thing of the past.

I know of four within one mile of where I live all part of Asian supermarkets and I have to say the various vegetables in the baskets look of high quality which i'd happily buy rather than obtain from a supermarket however, we have the Grainger Market in the city centre and I buy my veg there.

My local Morrisons has an outdoor Laundry with the machines set in the wall of the Supermarket .

Cheesemongers no longer have a gouda presence.
We have quite a few here, some closed down so there were more the ones we have now have wifi and look quite modern.
Remember those shops which used to contain massive buckets of everything like rice, pasta, sugar etc. You used to fill a bag with whatever you wanted. I recall they were quite common in the 90's but not seen one for a long while.
Not a shop but the men that used to come round sharpening knives, he used to stop at the end of our street and me mam would give me a handful of knives to run up the street with to get sharpened. Not just me over kids too then we'd have sword fights on the way home! Seriously how am I still alive!
Yes our Holland and Barrett used to do that, breakfast cereal, nut, biscuits loads of stuff.
