When i was a kid i thought it was because of the time of year they made the wineThis thread has reminded me that when I was young I always wondered what summer wine is as opposed to normal wine! Can`t remember ever hearing the term except as the programme title.
The owner, who in the past has hired all sorts of vehicles to tv and film companies, has spare parts for the Aladdin van. He is not a young man, but he's still keen to get it roadworthy again. The engine runs, he drove it out of the field for us to film!Auntie's 'Aladin gets on your wick' Bedford bus was a great find Leigh, I do hope it gets restored & not left out to rot.
Don't forget she's a shrewd businesswoman... probably got the Milk float for a satsuma and a six-penny piece!Loved the vehicular history lesson thank you both for filming and posting makes you wonder how much money Auntie spent on vehicles for all the shows we have seen over the years quite a substantial sum I imagine.
It has several interior options, including chip shop van and mobile grocers...I bet it didn't smoke or backfire as much as it did on screen. I notice it became a mobile chippy after the show. Maybe you can persuade him to reinstate it in Wainwright's livery?

The 'boom town rats' song has changed to I LIKE Mondays.
One of my faves of your series Leigh! One of the things that makes LOTSW so interesting are the locations and the stories behind them as well as the slight of hand, er editing, to make it all look like the same locality. Great shout out to Barry too! There was so much information about the locations used in the show, it was impossible to fit it in the other videos, without making them too long, or veering off topic, so this video features some more of that research.
I asked a scrap dealer but he could not find the placeGreat video again many thanks as always. Thought Terry had sold the gate to the scrap metal merchant but it was just your very clever editing
