50 Golden Summers Celebration Weekend (26-28 May)

Very much looking forward to it – even if I will have to behalf myself at the crawl. Some of us have work to do on Saturday!

A lot of people have put a lot of work into this coming weekend so here's hoping for an amazing turnout for all activities.

I'm sure I speak on behalf of all of the members of this forum, we're so grateful that you, Bob and everyone else in making this amazing event a reality. Thank you to you all. :)

Unfortunately I’ll be away at the weekend,I’ll be in Croatia, otherwise I would definitely have gone,it will be amazing,I hope there will somehow be another opportunity or celebration to see Grahams Herald and picnic on Barry’s land and see all the other things, but like many others I will look forward to all the photos and reports on here, please post lots, and would like to wish all that are going a wonderful and unforgettable weekend.

Hooray for Crusher!

Graham, if they are really painting then I truly hope you are not leaving your nice car parked so close.

That is a nice car! I drive mom's Ford Escape and it has a bunch of technology that I've come to rely on so I doubt I could drive something like that but wow it looks so cool! I'm not going to show it to my dad, he'd be crazy about it! Lol

I'm sorry you'll never convince me this is a tribute and it hasn't been altered since it was fist spotted back in 2016 [here's the photo of the sculptor with it from the paper way back when I cannot see any discernible difference] When you look at the incredible statue of Eric Morecambe that is what I call a fitting tribute.

When I get a days work concertina’d into a morning I’ll be hitting the road and heading into the Yorkshire sun. Can’t wait !!!!

Re the Compo statue could someone who is going this weekend please take a photo of it face on and please put it on this thread because whilst the side on view seen in the shots may look a reasonable facsimile of Compo i seem to recall face on it shows the eyes are too far apart hence my issue with it aside that it is basically a lump of stone with his face carved on it . Thank you in advance for any help offered.
