Dodgy Fish & Chips Anyone

If you go to a British "chippy" you don't get vinegar, they use "non-brewed condiment", it is a concoction of chemicals that is watered down to give a vinegar flavour - only because it is much cheaper than "real" vinegar. They are not allowed to put it in a container that resembles a vinegar bottle (you can argue over what that looks like) - not that anyone notices!

Never knew that o_O but I'm pretty sure that many of the chippies which have an eat in option no doubt refill their Sarson's bottles with that concoction to give the impression.....

Shocking really as vinegar really isn't prohibitively expensive in the first place....

Having worked in the food industry a few times over the years trust me when I say you don't want to dig to deeply into that rabbit hole.

Heinz have also started to put a red band around the window in their sauce bottles that matches the colour of the contents so that if a cafe etc refills it with an inferior substitute it won’t match the colour of the band.
You used to be able to refill Sarsons Vinegar bottles but you can't anymore, probably for that very same reason.

While we are on the subject of Heinz Ketchup, I have a serious issue with their new style dispenser-top (you know that with the old ones, you're supposed to store the bottle upside down, flip the lid and squeeze the bottle to get the sauce) the old one has worked perfectly well for years, neh, decades!!! but the fools have replaced it with one that as soon as you flip the lid you firstly end up with sauce EVERYWHERE but on the food on your plate, ceiling, walls, fridge door, cooker etc. and secondly you have to clean the lid fully before putting it away.
WHY DID THEY DO IT :fp::15::20:

I reckon all the product designers at Heinz had the remit to annoy you as much as they possibly could with their new bottles :D
