Thank you Leigh for producing a fascinating insight into these "forgotten turkeys" I definitely recall vaguely the two John Inman shows and everything you stated rings true . You do wonder why, when still basking in the glory of AYBS, John Inman requested a comedy series to be written for him, especially as AYBS was still being shown. It just doesn't make sense, was it a fear of being typecast but that doesn't stack up with Odd Man out or was he simply chasing money. I , gladly from what you said, had neither heard or seen the other two series.

Thanks @captain clutterbuck ... It might have been to avoid typecasting, but I suppose he didn't have any input on the script - and Vince Powell does seem to have written some less than successful shows. Trouble is, now you know about the other shows, they might become a video earworm!
 
I'm staggered at the apparent popularity of last weeks video: The UK’s Forgotten Sitcoms (1977 to 1986).
It had just under 9,000 views in 7 days. For context, some of my Summer Wine Decanted videos from about 2 years ago still only have 4,000-5,000 views! My typical count for 7 days is 1,500 to 2,100 views!

I don't think it's surprising as the appeal will be a lot more broader than your Summerwine videos generally. I'm really pleased your hard work is getting the recognition it deserves, and hopefully with the ad revenue it's also now commercially viable :)
 
No wonder I couldn't name it thankfully I never watched any of the turkeys you gave the excellent lowdown on in the latest release Leigh, thank you so much for the research and subsequent presentation. I am so glad I never witnessed any of those four shows and have no wish to chase down any footage that remains . Sanjeev Kholi I thought was quite a prolific writer , aside from starring as Navid in Still Game but his listings don't support that with contributions to Chewin the Fat and Goodness Gracious me with the radio series Fags , Mags and Bags being his largest contribution [ I have listened to the odd episode , quite entertaining] :)
 
I am currently trying to write a script for a video due out in about two weeks. I'm not usually this near publishing when I'm still writing and it's given me neckache. I'm trying to whittle down 40 minutes worth of stuff in to about 20 minutes. I don't deliberately give myself problems!

Doesn't that mean you're shortchanging your die hard fans of 20mins worth of content !? :D
